Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in the emergency department. Your next patient is Gillian Prowse, 63, who came in by ambulance this morning because she kept asking her husband the same questions after her swim.

  1. Take a focused history from the patient and her husband

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine the patient
  • The examiner will ask you one question at the end

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
