You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Claudia Morel, 35, is 12 weeks into her first pregnancy. Her combined first-trimester screen shows a high risk of preterm pre-eclampsia. The obstetrician recommends aspirin.

  1. Counsel Ms Morel on aspirin and agree a plan

  • You do not need to take a history or examine the patient

Preterm pre-eclampsia risk 1 in 45 (high; cut-off 1 in 100). Chromosomal screen low risk.
