You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Rahul Sharma, 16, a Year 11 student presenting with several months of trouble falling asleep and getting up for school. His mother is with him.

  1. Take a focused history

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine the patient or discuss management
  • You do not need to summarise your findings to the examiner
  • The examiner will ask you one question at the end.
