Station - Instructions for candidate
You are a final-year medical student on placement in a general practice in Balcatta. The GP has asked you to see the next patient and report back; the GP will perform any intimate examination.
Despina Georgiou, 63, has booked because of something she noticed this month. Her practice record is on your sheet.

Your tasks are to:
- Take a focused history.
- Describe to the examiner the examination the GP will perform and what it is looking for; the examiner will provide the findings. Then request the investigations you consider necessary; the examiner will provide results where appropriate.
- State your most likely diagnosis and the differential diagnoses to the examiner.
- Outline your initial management plan to the examiner and tell the patient what happens next, including the referral and its urgency.
- You do NOT need to summarise your findings to the examiner.
- You do NOT perform the examination; describe it to the patient and the examiner will give you the GP's findings.
- Plan the station: about 4 minutes for the history, 2 for examination and investigations, and 4 for diagnosis, plan and explanation.
