Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Graham Pidgeon, 63, a retired truck driver, who has noticed red urine twice in the past month and has a dull ache in his left side.

  1. Perform a full examination

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your findings
    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to take a history
  • Please verbalise your examination; findings will be provided on request
  • The examiner will ask you questions at the end.

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
