You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Rohan Malhotra, 22, presenting with diarrhoea for three weeks.

  1. Take a focused history

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Relevant investigations
    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine the patient, discuss management or summarise your history
  • The examiner will give you the results of any investigations you request
  • The examiner will ask you one question at the end
