Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Troy Mazzotti, 52, an electrician presenting with three months of a burning, numb patch on the outside of his right thigh.

  1. Examine the patient

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your findings
    • Your most likely diagnosis
  • You do not need to take a history
  • Describe your examination as you go; findings that cannot be seen on the patient will be given on request
  • The examiner will ask you questions at the end.

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
