Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in the emergency department. Your next patient is Meera Singh, 20, brought in by her flatmate Chloe at 12.45 am because she has become agitated and confused, mumbling and picking at things in the air.

  1. Take a focused history from her flatmate

  2. Perform a focused examination

  3. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
    • Next steps in management, including relevant investigations
  • Please verbalise your examination; findings will be provided on request
  • You do not need to summarise your findings to the examiner
