You are an intern on the orthopaedic ward. Mavis Fairweather, 83, fell at home last night. Her X-ray shows a displaced intracapsular fracture of the left neck of femur. The orthogeriatric team has found she has capacity. She is listed for a hemiarthroplasty tomorrow morning.
