Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in a community mental health clinic. Your next patient is Corey Bannister, 34, who is drinking water all day and passing urine constantly; his support worker, Kerry, is in the room with him.

  1. Take a focused history

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Relevant investigations
    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine the patient, discuss management or summarise your history
  • The examiner will give you the results of any investigations you request
  • The examiner will ask you one question at the end
Practising alone? Ask the examinerFindings appear only when you ask for them

Investigations

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
