You are a medical student on placement in a general practice.

Ayen Deng, a 47-year-old plasterer, has booked to see the GP about pain on the outer side of her right elbow and forearm that came on gradually over the last couple of months and is affecting her work. The GP has asked you to see her.

Your tasks are to:

  1. Perform a focused examination of her right elbow and forearm, including a neurological screen of the upper limb. Describe to the examiner what you would like to look for or do and the relevant findings will be provided to you.
