Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice in Busselton. Your next patient is Althea Mendoza, 9, brought in by her father, Paolo, who is worried that she has barely grown in two years and keeps getting headaches.

  1. Take a focused history from her father

  2. Perform a focused examination

  3. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
    • Next steps in management, including relevant investigations
  • You do not need to summarise your findings to the examiner
  • Althea is not in the room: say what you would examine; the examiner will give the findings

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
