Instructions

You are an intern in the emergency department. Your next patient is Kavya Singh, 28, who is 11 weeks pregnant and came in with heavy vaginal bleeding; she fainted in the ED toilet 10 minutes ago and her partner Rohan is with her.

  1. Assess and manage the patient using an A to E approach

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
    • Next steps in management, including relevant investigations
  • The examiner acts as the nurse and carries out your instructions; describe procedures rather than performing them
  • You do not need to take a full history or summarise your findings
