Station - Instructions for candidate
You are an intern in the Emergency Department of a Perth metropolitan hospital.
Jun Zhang, a 52-year-old landscaper, presented 30 minutes ago after waking this morning with acute onset severe pain in his left knee. The triage nurse has recorded observations and is handing him over to you.

Your tasks are to:
- Take a focused history of the presenting complaint and relevant background.
- Perform a focused examination of the left knee. Describe to the examiner what you would look for or do and the relevant findings will be provided to you.
- Request appropriate investigations.
- State your most likely diagnosis and two to four differentials with brief justification.
- Outline your initial management plan, naming the key antibiotics, dose and route.
- You do NOT need to summarise your history and examination findings to the examiner.
- Findings will be provided by the examiner when you describe the examination step.
This is a 15-minute station, with 2 minutes of reading time.
