Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in the colposcopy clinic. Leila Ferreira, 31, had a colposcopy two weeks ago after a screening test positive for HPV 16. The biopsy is back and the gynaecologist recommends a LLETZ.

  1. Explain the biopsy result to Ms Ferreira

  2. Explain the LLETZ procedure and obtain her consent

  • You do not need to take a history or examine the patient

High-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (CIN 3). No invasive cancer seen.
