You are a medical student on placement in the emergency department. Keith Holloway, 72, who takes apixaban for atrial fibrillation, has had 40 minutes of brisk bleeding from his left nostril. A nurse is with you.
Perform first aid and demonstrate control of the nosebleed on the model
Answer the examiner's questions
- Model head, headlight, suction, co-phenylcaine, silver nitrate and a nasal tampon are provided
- Findings will be given on request
