Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Harry Pembury, 6, brought in by his father, Luke, because he has a cold and has now gone pale, with yellow eyes.

  1. Take a focused history from his father

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Relevant investigations
    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine Harry, discuss management or summarise your history
  • The examiner will give you the results of any investigations you request
  • The examiner will ask you one question at the end.

Investigations

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
