Station - Instructions for candidate
You are a medical student on placement in the pre-admission clinic.
Giuseppe Caruso is a 64-year-old man who has booked a pre-admission appointment before his planned surgical procedure in 2 weeks' time. He was referred here by his GP for assessment. He has several chronic health conditions that require careful assessment and medication management.

Your tasks are to:
- Take a focused history of his chronic health conditions and medication use, including any relevant surgical history.
- Request appropriate investigations for pre-operative assessment.
- Outline your assessment and management plan to the examiner, including specific medication adjustments and any specific considerations for the patient during and after the procedure.
- Summarise your findings and safety plan to the examiner.
- You do not need to perform a physical examination in this station.
- You are not required to write prescriptions.
- Examination findings will be provided by the examiner on request.
