Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Brendan Moloney, 34, an electrician, who says things have not been working properly in the bedroom for the past two months.

  1. Take a focused history

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
    • Next steps in management
  • You do not need to examine the patient
  • You do not need to summarise your findings to the examiner
  • The examiner will ask you questions at the end.

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
