Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice. Your next patient is Ajak Deng, 6, who is the shortest in his class; his mother, Nyibol Deng, is talking with you while he is with the practice nurse.

  1. Take a focused history from Ajak's mother

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine Ajak
  • You do not need to summarise your findings to the examiner
  • The examiner will ask you questions at the end

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
