Station - Instructions for candidate
You are a medical student on placement in the Emergency Department of a Perth metropolitan hospital.
Francesca Rossi, a 35-year-old cleaner, presents to the ED with a cut on her right arm sustained 1 hour ago when she cut herself with a kitchen knife. The triage nurse has recorded her observations.

Your tasks are to:
- Take a focused history of the injury.
- Assess the wound and examine for hand perfusion and neurological status distal to the cut.
- Manage the wound with appropriate local anaesthetic and demonstrate the wound closure technique on a model.
- Discuss aftercare instructions and follow-up arrangements.
- You do NOT need to summarise your findings to the examiner.
- The wound closure will be demonstrated on a model, not on the patient.
This is a 10-minute station, with 2 minutes of reading time.
