Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in the emergency department. Your next patient is Vikram Sharma, aged 7, brought in by his father because he woke this morning with sore legs and would not walk.

  1. Take a focused history from his father

  2. Examine Vikram

  3. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to summarise your findings
  • Please verbalise your examination; the examiner gives findings on request and answers for Vikram
  • The examiner will ask you questions at the end

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
