Instructions

You are a medical student on placement in general practice at an Aboriginal Medical Service in Broome. Your next patient is Royce Andrews, 34, from the Fitzroy Valley and visiting family in Broome, presenting with four days of pain on the left side of his face, which is now swollen.

  1. Take a focused history

  2. Outline to the examiner:

    • Your most likely diagnosis and differentials
  • You do not need to examine the patient, request investigations or discuss management
  • You do NOT need to summarise your findings to the examiner
  • The examiner will ask you one question at the end

ChoiceHub writes these stations itself, from the ground up, across a wide range of clinical topics. They are not official exam material, and no university has written, reviewed or endorsed them. “Recommended for” only suggests the year and exam format a station suits.
