Station - Instructions for candidate
You are an intern on the cardiology ward of a Perth teaching hospital.
Helen Barrett, a 58-year-old florist, is going home today, three days after a heart attack treated with a coronary stent. Her discharge medicines are listed on your sheet. The pharmacist has been delayed, and the registrar has asked you to go through her two antiplatelet medicines with her before she leaves.
| Discharge summary (extract) | Non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction; drug-eluting stent to the proximal circumflex artery; ejection fraction 55 percent. Discharge medicines: aspirin 100 mg daily (lifelong), ticagrelor 90 mg twice daily for 12 months, atorvastatin 80 mg at night, metoprolol 25 mg twice daily, perindopril 2.5 mg daily, glyceryl trinitrate spray as needed. Bloods: Hb 132, platelets 240, creatinine 70. Cardiac rehabilitation referral sent. |

- You do NOT need to summarise your findings to the examiner.
