L1 anterior ramus

First lumbar anterior ramus, usually reinforced by a twig from T12 (subcostal nerve). It splits into an upper branch (iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves) and a lower branch that joins L2 to form the genitofemoral nerve.
