The continuation of the anterior division of the lower trunk. Gives the medial pectoral nerve, both medial cutaneous nerves, the ulnar nerve and the medial root of the median nerve.

All the intrinsic muscles of the hand, and the long flexors of the fingers
Sensory
Medial arm, medial forearm and the medial one and a half digits

When it goes wrong

Klumpke-type traction injury, or infiltration by an apical lung tumour

Clawing with wasting of the hand intrinsics and sensory loss down the medial border of the limb.
