In the department he has a harsh inspiratory noise audible at rest, mild-to-moderate drawing-in of the chest wall, and is sitting on his mother's lap, drinking from a cup and looking around. His temperature is 38.2 °C, respiratory rate 32/min, oxygen saturation 96% in air. He is not drooling and his voice is hoarse rather than muffled.
