Acute Caremiddle twist
A 29-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 1, is 13 weeks and 2 days pregnant by a dating scan at 8 weeks. She has had six hours of moderate vaginal bleeding and cramping and is haemodynamically stable. Ultrasound shows an intrauterine gestation sac with no fetal heart activity, and the cervical os is open. Her blood group is O RhD negative and the antibody screen shows no preformed anti-D.
