A 58-year-old man with a 15-year history of diabetes mellitus presents to the emergency department with a sudden onset of vision loss in his right eye. He does not report any headache or eye pain. Before losing vision, he recalls seeing dark floaters and a "reddish haze." Fundoscopic examination is shown.
