Eyes, Ears, Nose and Throatmiddle twist
A 24-year-old woman who wears soft contact lenses and often sleeps in them presents with 24 hours of an increasingly painful, red, watering right eye and marked sensitivity to light. Her vision in that eye has dropped from 6/6 to 6/18. On examination there is intense injection around the edge of the cornea and a 1.5 mm round white opacity in the central cornea that takes up fluorescein. The pupil is normal and the anterior chamber is clear.
