A 41-year-old man with bipolar I disorder is brought to a Perth community mental health clinic by his mother, who wants him put in hospital. He stopped lithium six weeks ago because of a hand tremor that embarrassed him at work. He now sleeps five hours a night and has spent 400 dollars on model trains.
