Lateral left ventricular wall

Territory

The free wall between the anterior and inferior territories: the high (basal) lateral wall from the first diagonal or first obtuse marginal, the low (apical) lateral wall from the distal LAD and obtuse marginals.

Traced from the start

  1. Left (posterior) aortic sinus and left main stem
  2. Left circumflex artery
  3. Left anterior descending (anterior interventricular) artery
  4. Obtuse marginal branches of the circumflexDiagonal branches of the LAD
  5. Lateral left ventricular wall

Detail

Supplied by
Obtuse marginals of the circumflex, with diagonals of the LAD
Leads
I and aVL (high lateral); V5 and V6 (low lateral)

When it goes wrong

Isolated lateral STEMI

Usually circumflex or obtuse marginal occlusion; reciprocal ST depression appears in III and aVF
