A 7-year-old boy is brought by his mother with a letter from his teacher. For the past year at school he cannot stay in his seat, blurts out answers before questions are finished, interrupts other children's games and loses his hat, lunchbox and homework almost daily. His mother says it is the same at home and at his grandmother's, and has been since he was about four. He is affectionate, has three close friends, makes good eye contact and is reading at grade level. He is sorry when reprimanded and wants to please. He sleeps well and has no staring spells.
